Reindeer Cheese Triangles

Reindeer cheese triangles could make out a perfect evening snack for both children and elders who have cheese in their favorites list. This recipe is very simple to put together and they even look really sweet when the recipe is completed. And the best of this is, they’re very tasty.

Ingredients :

  • Cream cheese triangles – 1 or 2 packs
  • Mini pretzels – 2 for each cheese triangle
  • Black peppercorns, half olives
  • Small pieces of red bell pepper or tomato

Part-1 : Preparation

1.Set up the necessary things before making the reindeer cheese: This way helps you to work through each triangle in the manner of a production line without having any interruption in the middle of the process, need not chop anything or remove wrappers between the process, etc.

2.Preparation of the nose: Cut triangle shaped small pieces of the bell pepper(capsicum) or tomato or any other red savory food item depending on your availability or taste for the nose. The rough shape of a triangle can make the recipe look pretty but it shouldn’t be too big for the tip of the cheese. Cut sufficient number of triangles for the amount of cheese triangles you’re taking.

3.Preparation of the eyes: If you want to make the eyes out of peppercorns, you can just tip them into a small container so that it becomes easier for you to grab them. Otherwise half olives or other food items that needs chopping may also be used but those should be cut into small rounds to set them as the reindeer’s eyes. Keep them within an easy reach.

4.Preparation the cheese triangles: Carefully unwrap each of the cheese triangle depending on the number you want. Be careful while pulling off the end of the triangle as you are unwrapping but if accidentally you do, the nose must cover this mistake. This step should be slowly done rather than rushing. When you have peeled off, let the peeled cheese to lay on a parchment paper piece or silicone sheet over a tray or a plate, so that the cheese stays clean and also it will be easy to pick up.

5.Take the required number of pretzels for the recipe: Make sure that you should use only the ones that are perfect and pick out the broken ones as they will not work until all the holes are being intact.

6.Getting ready with the serving plate: Ensure that it is clean and ready for food. Do not let paper or anything made of paper to line on the serving plate, even a paper napkins, since it will stick to the cheese and ruin it for eating. If you want, you can use something made from silicone, plastic or any other non-stick surface.

Part-2 : Making of reindeer cheese triangles

1.Formation of the first reindeer triangle: It may be easy if the pretzels are added first, but you will likely find your own style of preparing the reindeer as everything stays stuck on to the cheese, in which case, simply shift around the steps for adding the features to suit your preference.

2.Add the pretzel antlers: Slide the bottom hole of a whole pretzel over the base corner of the wide end of the cheese triangle. It should fit tightly in its place. Repeat for the other base corner on the wide end of the cheese triangle, again fitting it tightly. Now you have added two pretzel antlers added to the cheese triangle without much difficulty.

3.Adding the nose: Gently press the pieces of bell pepper(capsicum) on the single narrow tip end of the cheese triangle as it appears the nose shape on the top. As the cheese is very sticky, the bell pepper should stick fairly easily. But, you should adjust the nose(bell pepper) size if you think it appears too small or big. After you complete the first reindeer, it can be a good guide.

4.Adding the eyes: Gently, press in the peppercorns or olive halves where you think the eyes look best, a little way under the wide end of the cheese triangle. Take care of the space between the eyes that they are apart evenly, unless you want a crazy reindeer, which looks fine too.

5.Carefully place the reindeer on to the serving plate: Check if you are happy with how it has resulted out. Now,It is ready to serve as the basic template to follow for all the remaining cheese triangles.

6.Prepare the remaining reindeer cheese triangles in the same way: You should get quicker with the more reindeer cheese triangles you make, as you get a rhythm and knack for it. Arrange them carefully on the serving plate after completion of each of them.

  • Cover with kitchen plastic wrap or other suitable covering to protect it until needed. You can keep these reindeer cheese triangles in the refrigerator until serving time or serving immediately also tastes yummy!
