The Galaxy S8 Maybe Launched Sooner
After the breakdown of Galaxy Note7, Samsung has reportedly advanced to launch its next flagship smartphone, which is called the Galaxy S8. Even the feedback reports of the Galaxy Note7 had left a negative impression in the minds of the customers. Moreover, the Samsung’s investors aren’t too thrilled either which can be seen from their share prices. This has reflected on another smartphone launch that could have been a perfect one.
Kim Sang-pyo, an analyst at KB Investment & Securities has suggested that the Galaxy S8 might be launched earlier than expected so that it helps in erasing the explosion of Samsung’s Galaxy Note7 from the memories of their customers.
The analyst adds, “Regardless the Note7’s sales resumption, an early launch of a new flagship smartphone appears to be the most realistic solution for Samsung to deal with the current fiasco”.
Thinking that this is what exactly Samsung is planning, the launch schedule of the Galaxy S8 could be brought forward in
Thinking that this is what exactly Samsung is planning, the launch schedule of the Galaxy S8 could be brought forward in early 2017. Usually, Samsung holds a launch event early in the year during MWC, and since MWC 2017 is going to take place towards the end of February, possibly, the phone launch could be seen earlier even in January.
When Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge at MWC this year, it was initially expected the Galaxy S8 to be launched later in the upcoming year.
On the other hand, another report by SamMobile suggests that Samsung is working on two alternatives of the galaxy S8. Both the alternates are said to bear model numbers SM-G950 and SM-G955 respectively. They are same as the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, one holds a smaller display and the other a larger one.
The model number of the Galaxy S7 was SM-G930 and the following variant is bearing a model number SM-G950. You might have noticed the model number had jumped directly to SM-G950 after SM-G930. This is because of ‘Tetrophobia‘. In South Korea and China, they consider “number 4” as their unlucky number and now they certainly want to avoid the bad luck.
Recent reports also suggest that the Samsung’s next flagship, Galaxy S8 will be powered by in-house Exynos 8895 SoC. This helps the clock speeds to reach up to 3.0GHz and also it will improve image processing by 70 percent.
