Colorful text status updates
WhatsApp for Android gets a new feature with which the users are able to put out colorful text status instead of photos and videos. This feature is already available for Facebook users since last year. The new feature for WhatsApp status is reportedly available for the beta users already and is at a testing stage for now. This means that WhatsApp will soon roll out the feature for the general public.
The text status feature is a part of WhatsApp beta version 2.17.291 as per a report by Android Police. The report further states that the new feature will be first available to the users who have enrolled for WhatsApp’s official Play Store beta program. The beta users will get their hands on the feature before it is officially rolled out to the public. With all its features, the WhatsApp has been doing the same.
Before making a feature official, the messaging platform brings it to the beta users first for testing and later rolls out to everyone. The same changes will happen with the new colorful text status as well. Probably, a report by Android Police hints that the feature is a server-side test. This feature may not be available to the public ever even if they have updated their app to the latest version. On Concord, that’s a little unlikely to happen because usually if a feature is available for beta users as this comes under public too.
Reports claim that WhatsApp will add a new floating pencil button above the camera icon on the Status tab. To put out a colored text status such as Facebook. You just need to tap on the floating pencil, then write and upload it. A report also suggests that WhatsApp brings three options to the users with this new feature with the users. As it will be able to add emojis, change the background color, and as well as selecting the font size. This also allows the users to design interesting colored text status. To upload, users will be required to tap on the green arrow icon at the bottom right to post Status after the text status is created.
Actually, this new feature is first appeared on Android and will be eventually available for the iOS users as well. WhatsApp is planning to bring a few more featured on board. The messaging application is reportedly working on a recall feature. WhatsApp users can delete the message they sent it to their friends after sending it with this feature. Moreover, WhatsApp is also working on integrating payment system within the application in the wake to promote digital India. Millions of people use this WhatsApp and by bringing payment service on board it’s aiming to make online transaction extremely easy and simple.
