Use Google Drive To Scan your Document On Android
The Search Engine giant “Google” has updated the Google Drive with a cleaner, cards-style look and much more. Among these many updates, the company has also added another update. It has the ability to download a copy of documents directly to your device and scan papers using OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
The OCR technology allows the users to convert text into the images and PDF documents into searchable documents with the ability to easily edit and save. Now you can scan all types of documents, receipts and save it in the Google drive itself.
Let’s now know how to scan your documents using Google Drive app on your Android Smartphone. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open Google Drive app on your Android smartphone.
Step 2: Tap on the circular blue + button on the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 3: You will find a number of options, choose “scan” among them.
Step 4: Now, you can take a picture of your document or receipt using your smartphone’s camera.
Step 5: After taking the picture, it will crop the unwanted space to adjust scan area and gives you a preview as well. If you want to scan it again, you can tap on to the refresh button to take a new picture.
Step 6: Once you are done with taking a picture of the document, it will be automatically saved to Google Drive in PDF format.
This way you can scan the documents on Android using Google Drive. The clarity of the scanned document depends on the pixels of your smartphone’s camera.
