Customize Folder Colors In Windows 10
Windows 10 doesn’t have options for you to customize folder colors. Moreover, there are a few software packages that alter folder colors. All aren’t free but Colorizer is one that is free. You can select new folder colors from the context menu with this package. To add it to Windows 10 open the Colorizer page on Softpedia. Tap the Download Now button to save the software’s setup wizard. Then tap FolderColorizerSetup to install Colorizer.
Right-tap the Windows 10 desktop and select New -> Desktop to add a new folder to it. Next, you should right-click the folder on the desktop to open its context menu that will now include a Colorize option as in the snapshot below. Select that option to expand its sub menu.
You can select the submenu that includes a few colors. Select a color from there to add it to the folder. Press the Restore original color option on the context menu to revert back to the default color.
To add any folder in File Explorer you can add new colors. There are few folders you can’t apply colors too. For instance, you can’t add new colors to compressed Zip folders in File Explorer.
To open the window select Colors on the submenu. You can select custom colors by dragging cursor that includes a circular palette. You can also drag the color bar to choose further color varieties. Press the + Add color button to add the new color to the context menu.
To customize folder colors in Windows 10, 8 and 7 with colorizer as it’s a decent freeware package. You can also customize the folder colors with alternative programs just like Folderico and FolderMarker. On Concord, they are not freeware.
