Lenovo N22-20 Touch Chromebook

Chromebook

We see most Chromebook are almost similar in looks. But the N22 Touch Chromebook has added some new features to itself. The Chromebook has a built-in handle that spins around and lets us to easily carry of the machine. Also, there is a camera on the handle that can be used to record the teachers and yourself too. This laptop will be more useful for students rather than professionals. It works its best where there is a need to focus on one assignment at a time.

Design:

Chromebook

It is a standard 11-inch Chromebook that measures 0.86 x 11.83 x 8.35 inches (HWD) and weighs 2.68 pounds. It has 1366 x 768 display resolution, island-style keys and a deck made of a black plastic. The plastic does feel a bit cheap on the palm rest. The black plastic lid features the Chrome logo on the top-left corner and Lenovo’s emblem at the bottom-right.

The handle of the laptop feels like the world’s smallest laptop while carrying it. There’s also a 720p webcam and a microphone in the top bezel, both of which can be rotated 180 degrees. It can be put easily in a backpack and carried. Lenovo claims that this laptop is “semi-ruggedized,” suggesting that it can survive drops of up to 2.3 feet and that it features a spill-resistant keyboard.

Features:

The N22-20 features an 11.6-inch In-Plane Switching (IPS) touch screen with an anti-reflective coating. The anti-reflective coating works well when you’re looking at the screen head-on. But when you open up the lid to 180 degrees, you do get quite a bit of glare. The screen is responsive, and it’s admittedly convenient for swiping between open tabs. It has a multitouch display that supports up to 10 fingers simultaneously. In terms of storage, the N22-20 comes with 16GB of eMMC flash memory. 16GB memory is more common though some of the Chromebooks use 32GB.

Ports:

The N22-20 Chromebook has relatively standard collection of I/O ports. On the left side of the Chromebook, it has a power jack, an HDMI port, USB 3.0 port, Memory card slot and an audio jack. The right side has another USB 3.0 port and a Kensington lock slot. This is kind of cool, but it’s also a bit stiff and awkward in practice. For connectivity, the N22-20 comes with dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

Keyboard and Touchpad:

The N22-20 features a chiclet-style keyboard that feels comfortable to type on. The keyboard is water-resistant and spill resistant. The touchpad is responsive and large with 4.1 x 2.4-inch is spacious and accurate. There isn’t any problem with it to navigate or use gestures like two-finger scrolling and three-finger swiping for switching between tabs.

Performance:

The Touch Chromebook is built with 1.6-GHz Intel Celeron N3060 CPU with integrated HD Graphics 400. Also, there is 4GB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage. It can only work better for a single assignment, rather than multitasking. For instance, if you open multiple tabs with each performing different functions, only a few may respond its best and the remaining slows down.
