LG G6 Review
LG G6 is a modular design of its predecessor LG G5. G6 is a good looking phone free of gimmicks with almost no bezels. It has a rounded edge to edge display with 2880 x 1440 resolution. This flagship uses an upgraded Snapdragon 835 Processor while most of the other smartphones use 821. The camera built into this device is a dual-camera of 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera which can help you take excellent pictures out there.
Now let us know in detail about the features and specifications of the LG G6.
Design:
It is one of the best Android phones with 5.7 inches display and an excellent 18:9 display ratio. The phone is narrower and easy to hold. The big screen optimizes the aspect ratio for video content. There’s a slab of Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear and a Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. There’s a metal rim running around the sides. A fingerprint sensor is designed on the rear of the phone.
But there is a problem with the fingerprint scanner in the LG G6 is its speed and sensitivity. Unexpected and accidental touches let the sensor scan the finger or touch as it is on its rear. This seems frustrating sometimes that the fingerprint sensor sits directly beside the camera. And otherwise, the fingerprint scanner is a good secure unlocking feature in G6.
The LG G6 adds with it IP68 water and dust resistant feature. It would be surprising for the LG G5 users because of this phone’s simplicity. There are two sensors on the rear of the phone above the fingerprint sensor. The LG G6 is available in platinum, black, and white colors. And of course, platinum will the lost attracting for everyone with its metallic screen.
There are a USB-C connector and speakers at the bottom and a headphone jack at the top of the phone. The internal storage of the device is 32 GB and is expandable up to 2 TB.
Display:
The display feature in LG G6 makes the mobile one of the best Android phones on the market. LG has now, opted for a display ratio of 18:9 that provides a taller panel with 5.7 inches display. The phone being packed with a long screen looks to be a benefit for this. The 2:1 aspect ratio provides 2 squares on the top of each other of the UI design theme. This helps Android for split-screen multitasking providing more space for each app.
LG G6 is the first smartphone with DOLBY vision support and is HDR10-enabled too. The contents on this display seem noticeably brighter and darker scenes are more detailed. With this AMOLED display, it feels like you are watching movies on a large TV. It gives you a great experience to take snaps and videos with this display.
Camera:
The device is equipped with a dual camera that can take wide snaps with clarity. Although, there is no any huge improvement in the LG G6 over its predecessor. This is one of the typical cameras with 13 megapixels, optical image stabilization (OIS), f/1.8 aperture. The LG on the G6 uses a dual-lens setup at 13 megapixels. You can get good images when you lower the exposure as much as possible. The image from the rear camera look quite natural and the low performance is adequate.
The LG G6 is packed with a 5 megapixels front camera with a f/2.2 aperture. You have an option with this single-lens front camera, unlike the rear camera to choose between wide-angle and standard shot.
Software:
The software design of LG G6 is a bit like a combination of Huawei EMUI and iOS along with the TouchWiz. The G6 has formed a huge difference from the G5 in reference to a huge improvement in UI, large screen size, multitasking, and many other features. G6 is packed with an Android 7 Nougat.
The LG G6 has not been a step forward to select Quadcore Snapdragon 835 instead it was Snapdragon 821 chipset with 2.35 GHz and 1.6 GHz dual-core kryo. The GPU for this smartphone is Adreno 530 graphics which contributes to a high performance. The G6 is packed with a 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The on-screen Android navigation button has added two additional buttons on the display including the home, back, and overview buttons. The order of these navigation buttons can be changed according to the wish of the user.
Performance:
The LG G6 is really an amazing smartphone with a larger screen. Though, for some this screen may be little to handle at the beginning but can easily get used to it in not more than a short span of time. This screen extension and the extra space aren’t used as separate areas to display notifications, shortcuts, and controls for the apps.
G6 lets you find an excellent option for playing games and watching videos along with which the sound is quite impressive. Thanks to the display! And this would happen with only high-definition graphics and the excellent supporting speakers. With 64 GB storage allotted to this smartphone with a microSD card that has been replaced by the second SIM. So this smartphone is designed for only one SIM and another slot for a microSD card.
Battery Life:
The battery capacity of the LG G6 is a non-removable 3300mAh which are a good power that can last a whole day under the usage of music, gaming, and camera. Though, this battery capacity is not the largest of what wee have come across in the recent times. The G6 takes nearly 2 hours to get the battery charged completely to its full. Sometimes, it happens that the battery lasts for more than a day with a low usage of the phone. Then the battery needs to be charged once in two or three days. Don’t you find this battery life impressing?
This proves that the battery is reliable and capable of lasting even the heaviest of usage.
So, the LG G6 is excellent and can even be said as an ultimate option with these many good features and specifications. The cost of the LG G6 smartphone is Rs.50,000 that can match the qualities of the smartphone.
