Our organization had decided to migrate from Thunderbird to Outlook email client. This required converting all MBOX files into PST file format and migrating the data from one email platform to another. As the manual conversion of data files was quite tedious and time-consuming, I searched for an MBOX to PST converter tool that could ease the process and save us some time and effort.

Speed

Stellar converter took some time to scan and convert MBOX file, but that was not an issue as the conversion process was running in the backend. I could work on other applications such as documenting my notes, while the software worked. The software also previewed the scanned data for validation.

Here, I would say that it won’t be wise to click the Stop button, available in red color. It may have stopped the conversion process so I had to start all over again.

Performance

I think the converter software converted nearly all components of selected MBOX file including emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, journals, etc. into PST format. It also maintained the folder hierarchy for easy PST-import into Outlook.

The software performed as per my expectations and I could easily validate all the mailbox components.

Once I had validated my mailbox data, I saved the data by clicking Save on the main menu. The software provided multiple saving options including saving the converted data as New PST or appending to the existing PST.

As I had to migrate data from Thunderbird to Outlook, I selected the save as New PST option from the Save Options menu.

The software also provided an ‘Apply Filter’ feature to help in converting only the relevant data. I could exclude data from emails IDs which were not significant, anymore.

Recommendations

Before opting for the final purchase, the software allowed to try it for free by using demo version. The trial version converts all mailbox data and previews it for validation. Assuming that converted data is available in the saved PST, I can recommend Stellar Converter for MBOX software, without any second thought.

The software also provides multiple options for mailbox export and conversion:

The main difference is that the Technician version provides multiple options for saving and exporting the converted MBOX data. It saves the converted data in existing PST, HTML, RTF and PDF format or exports the converted data directly to Office 365 and other Outlook profiles.

In addition, the Technician version converts multiple MBOX files into PST file format.

Purchasing the software requires activating it with a valid Activation Key, which is provided by the Support team via email after order confirmation.

Conclusion

MBOX to PST Converter software easily converts all MBOX files to PST. With a couple of extra features such as attachment preview and displaying the time taken for conversion of mailbox data in Log report, it would be a perfect software.
