You will never be the best if you aim for 100 percent productivity always. It is not possible for any worker to work continuously without taking any breaks as they can’t work without paying a price, whether the decrease in quality, safety, or output.

Normally, the knowledge workers are responsible for their own break schedules. It depends on us when we need to take a 2 minutes break to surf Facebook, or how slowly you walk to get a glass of water.

People frequently take breaks depending on their feelings, without any sort of consideration how long they need to get back or when they will take their next break. And everyone does not have good intuition. When taking a break it is easy to get down from an internet gap. It is easy to stop your break in the leisure times also by checking your email, browsing internet etc. And that is not a break.

The Theory of Breaks 
We should take useful breaks that actually keeps our mind peaceful and allows us to be more productive, and also it helps us to understand how we are working and why we are working.

When explaining about workplace burnout, actually what we are trying to avoid while we take breaks, many researchers change to something called the model of conservation of resources. This theory was developed in the late 1980’s by StevenE. Hobfoll describes how people can handle stress, and how they can use resources for some time at some point, we have to rebuild the resources what we missed.

When StevenE came along with this theory some experts started to understand that stress is constant and ever-present, more than being caused by single events only. Or else we experience stress when we work. There should not be disturbing environment at work which causes stress. Always Stress will be there, but we are using resources to deal with it. When we use less resource and our other resources are endangered, that’s burnout.

Other Researchers have questioned briefly about the conditions that need to rebuild resources that we lose when handling with stress.  For instance, two researchers have studied the effects of vacations and finally they concluded that mastery, Positive work reflection, and relaxation help rebuild resources. Entertaining on the weekends also seems to help, like doesn’t handle the work-related hassles when you are supposed to be functioning.

To stay away from work stress what we need to do is

  1. Not work and
  2. Do something enjoyable.

If you really want to take a useful break then stay away internet like checking emails (which makes you still working and not enjoyable) did you really enjoyable?

What Kind of Breaks Is Best? 
Besides the weekends and holidays, what types of breaks are useful? That is to tell, what we have to do is stop more loss of resources or also can build a back up again?

As said above, the break must be a break actually from work and work-related stuff. Emailing is not an actual break, because it changes out, actually it is complaining about work with co-workers, beneficial as it may be.

A famous and frequent re-blogged 2014 post on The Muse said that the perfect break schedule is working 57 minutes followed by 17-minutes break, but I don’t depend on that too heavily.

The best study said that the finest amount of time for breaks in a work day is about 12 percent and again, short discontinuous breaks are found to be best when compared to one or more long breaks. For example, if we use 12 percent in an 8-hour workday, the total we get 58 minutes of break-time.

Tools That Help You Take Smarter Breaks 
There is more beneficial to take effective breaks than knowing what they should be like, why they are beneficial, and how frequently need to take them. There we another topic of sticking to the breaks for some time you decide and returning to work when they are finished.

Pomodoro Technique which is a method of working divides time into break phases and work phases. So you can work for x minutes and take a break for y minutes and go over. Break apps are not the only time you and just lock you out of websites during work hours but also prevents you out of an entire computer that forces you to stop working during breaks. After break time, it unlocks only your Screen you set runs out.

Break apps are mostly used by the people who try to stay away from the repetitive stress injuries and computer-related eye stress because they all mandate it is compulsory to leave workstation during each break. Instead of surfing the web as part of your break, you can use the plug-in. Or fix yourself that you internet surfing during leisure on a mobile device.

Another way to confirm whether you added breaks into your day is to get from the desktop and stay away from it when the idle vibrates on your fitness tracker. Many fitness followers now have this feature. For example, if you set the time from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but if you still sit more than so many times, then it vibrates and flashes you a message on your display. The default for most trackers is 60 minutes of idle time, but often you can customize it. Set it for 55 minutes, perhaps, to give yourself an extra few minutes to wrap up your thoughts before you get up and take a proper break.
