Nowadays, we are provided with a screenshot feature in all the smartphones. It is being used to take snaps of the display in case of any importance of the data on it. Likewise, iOS 11 has now added it new screenshot feature in it for the same use. Screenshots can be taken for conversations, annotating an app screen to send feedback, any online pictures, and much more.

Usually, on iOS, we use the Home button and the power button to take the screenshots. But this time, with iOS, Apple changed the way of taking a screenshot. Soon after taking the screenshot, iOS 11 allows you to edit the image before forwarding or using the screenshot. The editing of the screenshot was possible even before, but you needed to go to the photos app to edit the screenshot. Whereas now, you can directly edit the image soon after taking the screenshot. Additionally, iOS 11 has a number of tips to use the screenshot features. Here are some of those tips to let you use the screenshot feature with ease.

1. Keyboard shortcut:

Screenshot markup feature is immensely faster and useful. While using a keyboard with an iPad for operating, this may seem easier. So know the keyboard shortcuts to use the screenshot feature easily.

2. Swipe Away the Preview:

After taking the screenshots, you will see the images in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Clicking on that will take you to the gallery. But if you don’t want to do anything with it right then, you can just swipe it off the screen. Now, you won’t be able to see that preview anymore on the screen.

3. Stack Screenshot preview:

Do you know the existence of the floating preview? The floating preview is not a normal UI element. Even if there is a floating window while taking a screenshot, there won’t be any second screenshot or any disturbance due to this floating window. Only the main window for which you wanted to take the screenshot will be shown in the preview. And all the screenshots taken will be stacked in the corner of the display. You can directly open them in the Markup view and use them to share.

4. Drag and Drop screenshots:

After taking the screenshots, they will be available in the bottom-left corner of the screen. And until the screenshots can be seen in the floating preview, they can be used in any app by drag and drop. Tap and hold on the preview until they are docked under your finger, then drop it into the respected app.

5. Tap and Hold for Sharing option:

Tap and hold on the floating preview to see the Share sheet. After which, you will be able to AirDrop the screenshot on another computer. Use the Files app and save it to any cloud sync service. Now you can use to share it in a conversation in messages or anywhere else.

6. Tap to Markup:

Tapping on the screenshot preview will let you jump directly into the Instant Markup screen. This is available in a number of places across the iOS 11.

7. Crop your image:

Cropping an image soon after taking the screenshot is made easy with the Instant Markup screen. There is no any particular mode that you need to go into, no icons to find that it is 3 level deep. While cropping, the image will be surrounded by a blue border with the edges being bold with handles. Tap and hold on the handles and move them accordingly as you wish to have the final image.

8. Markup options:

There are 6 colors and different tips for using your finger or Apple pencil to doodle a freeform on the screenshot. The “+” button here helps you with three options. You can use it as a magnifier, to add a signature that is already saved and a text box. In addition, there is a rectangle and circle shape tool along with the arrow tool.

9. Share the screenshots:

After marking up the screenshot, you can directly share the image with the apps and service provided on your device. You just have to click on the forward button on the top-right corner of the screen to share the image. After tapping on the share button, select the services through which you wish to share the image.

10. No need to Save:

After the task is completed to share the screen shot, you might not wish the screenshot to annotate the camera roll. Tapping on the Done button on the top-left corner will drop down two options: Save to photos and Delete screenshot. If you don’t really wish to save the screenshot, you need not necessarily.
