In Windows 10, there is a little app built that you might not know is there, or just have skipped over without more than a passing glance. That is nothing but Sticky Notes. But this app can easily remind your plan on your day.

Imagine your monitor filled with Post-It notes and you are about understanding Sticky Notes.

It doesn’t do a lot. But what it does it does well. It lets you make notes that are so clearly visible on your screen that you’ll not be able to ignore them. Here’s what you need to know.

1. Launching the app

Using Sticky Notes first part is knowing where to find it. The quickest way to do this is to use Cortana and just type “Sticky Notes” into the search box or to use voice commands to launch it by saying “Hey Cortana, launch Sticky Notes.”

Open it, if you want to find it in the Start Menu, hit “All Apps” then scroll down to “Windows Accessories.” Within this folder Sticky Notes is present.

2. Adding new notes

It’ll present you with a yellow square resembling the popular sticky notes when you launch the app for the first time. These aren’t designed for detailed note taking. You are better of with something such as OneNote for that still. Keep them concise because these are for quick reminders you need throughout the day.

Once you have left one note, adding another is easy. Hit the small “+” in the top left and another yellow square will appear. Until you have got enough keep it repeating. Or you can right tap on the icon in the taskbar and then “new note,” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + N.”

The app should be opened for your notes to remain on the screen.

3. Placement

You can put these little guys all over the place as with traditional sticky notes. You can pick them up and move them around the full expanse of your display. Just drop, and drag. Tap on the slightly darker yellow strip and the top and go sticking them wherever you want them.

4. Customize

You are given yellow by default. On concord, you don’t have to stick to that. Right, tap on any of your notes. You can change the color to a variety of presets. This is particularly handy if you want to make certain notes stand out or just group such as topics by color.

5. Cleaning up the mess

Once you are done with a note. Getting rid of it is easy. You can either just tap the small “x” or use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + D.” Then a dialog message will be displayed to check you’re sure you want to delete. But otherwise, your screen will start to empty.

Sticky Notes is a very simple application that is easily overlooked. On concord, if you just want to keep a quick reminder close at hand. Y don’t you once try it?
