UAE announces 100-year plan to finish building ‘first city on Mars’

first city on Mars

Yet again, UAE outlined a devious plan to build a new city not on the earth or on the sea this time but in a place far away which we humans happen to call Mars.

While this may sound impossible to most of us, colonization country is all set to build a city as big as Chicago by the end of 2117. UAE’s Vice President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced their plan of  ‘Mars 2117’ at the World Government Summit which was held on Tuesday as their country’s ongoing eff colonization on Mars possible in the coming decades. A presentation was shown during the announcement depicting the preliminary concept of the ‘Chicago of the Red planet’.

The leader was quoted saying “The landing of people on other planets has been a longtime dream for humans. Our aim is that the UAE will spearhead international efforts to make this dream a reality. ‘Mars 2117’ is a seed we are sowing today to reap the fruit of new generations led by a passion for science and advancing human knowledge.” in a series of tweets.

These plans might seem way too ambitious as always but if UAE succeeds it will nevertheless be considered as the success of the human race. The manager of the scientific and research committee at the World Government Summit said that the estimated population on the Red planet is 600,000 roughly the size of Chicago. though the plans seem vague and out of structure at the moment the research will get stronger after UAE’s launch of the uncrewed spacecraft ‘The Hope’, which is going to enter the orbit of the Red Planet by 2021.

In the coming decades, UAE will be partnering with International Researchers to figure out a better way of transportation, food, and shelter on the planet. UAE is also trying to make it a major science focus in the universities as the younger generations are going to be much more involved in doing a vast majority of work in the coming decades.

For all, we know neither Elon Musk nor UAE can make it to Mars alone considering the fact that UAE has only announced its plans about Mars in 2014 and SpaceX doesn’t have that kind of money to make this possible all by itself.

Let’s hope our future generations will have fun making Mars habitable by 2117.
