Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom

Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom

The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom was unveiled in January this year but it was made available only in May. This delay was all because the company upgraded the specifications of the device. Finally, when the device was released, the price was reduced instead of a specification upgrade. One of its demerits was the dated Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with which users were not at all satisfied since this Android version was already existing in other Smartphones. To overcome this OS issue in the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, the company has changed the Android version to Android 7.1.1 Nougat for its users. The upgrade included the removal of all the third-party apps from the previous version.

In the ZenTalk Forum, Asus declared its upgradations of the OS of the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom. It pushed out ZenUI version 20.31.49.2. The changelog notes that this software update upgrades the smartphone to Android Nougat. It also introduces Portrait mode on the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom and improved the experience of photography as well. Lastly, the update also introduces bug fixes and performance improvements.

This Smartphone’s update also brought a RAW file capture support. Google Now and Google Assistant has also been built into the ZenUI launcher. The update has also disabled some of the unnecessary features such as Splendid notifications, auto-start manager, and mobile manager. The biggest change in the upgrade is eliminating all the third-party apps removing the bloatware to a maximum extent. The Quick Settings icon was not customizable and it had pre-selected options in the earlier version. But now the top row is customizable according to your preferences.

The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is packed with a 5.5 inches full HD AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. This Smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The smartphone has a built-in dual rear camera both with 12 Megapixel. Among these, one is Sony IMX362 sensor and a f/1.7 aperture, and the other features 2.3x optical zoom. The front camera is 13 Megapixel with Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and a screen flash. The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom has the Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, and NFC that cover its connectivity options. The price of the smartphone is around Rs.21,300.
